Technical development policy

To make our greatest characteristic at Mitsubishi Logisnext, our diversity, a strength, we will bring our technical assets in different regions under global control and build a technical development framework that allows us to achieve our corporate philosophy of “moving the world forward as the leading provider of innovative logistics and material handling solutions.”

R&D facilities

Technology Development Center

Our Technology Development Center began operations in April 2020 after we brought together testing equipment at our Shiga Plant, which we have made central to our manufacturing departments, with the aim of enhancing product quality, improving task efficiency, shortening development lead times, and strengthening our development capabilities.
The center comprises a laboratory building, equipped with bench testing equipment; an office building, with an indoor test course and offices; and an outdoor test course for test runs of forklifts with carrying capacities of up to 43 tonnes.

Logistics Experiment Center

The Logistics Experiment Center takes on the challenge of creating synergies between Mitsubishi Logisnext and MHI to contribute to more efficient logistics. In order to further automation and autonomy in the logistics equipment field, and work on research and development into next-generation, logistics-related technologies, in cooperation with MHI we opened the center at its Research & Innovation Center in Takasago, Hyogo. The Logistics Experiment Center endeavors to better apply cutting-edge technology to automation and intelligent machinery, such as by using AGFs to load trucks or conducting R&D into unmanned operations, and to resolve issues.

LogiQ X Lab

The LogiQ X Lab is a research facility that develops and verifies automation solutions for moving items into, out of, and around warehouses, such as automated picking solutions that coordinate AGVs, AGFs, and palletizers. It also runs simulations for logistics operations before introduction of our systems, based on picking data from customers, and supports trials of automation and labor-saving solutions at warehouse and logistics sites.

On-site Training Center

The On-site Training Center is a facility designed to allow visitors to experience for themselves a number of the solutions we offer, including how we link devices and equipment for greater automation and autonomy or how manned forklifts can cooperate with automated devices.
It also focuses on the prerequisite to these, namely securing safety and security, by acting as a venue for forklift driving technique courses and within the exhibition space for practical skills classes and exams.
